Dave Reynolds

David L. Reynolds, Jr

Executive Director

 

David L. Reynolds, Jr, is the founder and Executive Director of the Vienna Jammers. Originally from Jackson, MS, Dave attended Virginia Tech with the goal of bringing his passion for music into schools. Dave began teaching general music at Vienna Elementary School in 2001. From flash mobs and National Anthem engagements, to performing at the Verizon Center, Vienna Elementary students have demonstrated success on multiple levels under his direction. His tradition of an annual farewell song for the sixth grade class has been ongoing since 2001.

 

He is also an active participant in OneVoice, a charity that connects children around the world through music, and has traveled twice to Africa and once to Nicaragua as part of this group. Thus far in his career, Reynolds has been nominated for Teacher of the Year Award in Fairfax County, recognized as the Teacher of the Year by the Vienna-Tysons Chamber of Commerce, recognized for his volunteer contributions to the Vienna community by the Mayor of Vienna, is a Grammy Semifinalist for Outstanding Music Teacher, and a 40 under 40 honoree given by the Leadership Center for Excellence.

Julianna Lee

Julianna Lee is pursuing a Master of Music in Percussion Performance at George Mason University, with an anticipated conferral in May 2021.  Her most recent study has been under the instruction of Jonathan Bisesi, John Kilkenny, and John Spirtas at George Mason University.  She has performed with the GMU Percussion Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and in the pit orchestra.  She earned a Bachelor of Music degree with a Performance Concentration in Percussion from the University of Virginia.  While a student at UVA, she studied under Professor I-Jen Fang and was a member of the UVA Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Cavalier Marching Band, and the Charlottesville Symphony.  She has also performed with the U.S. Air Force Band in their Collegiate Symposium (2017), the Crozet Symphony Orchestra, and The Oratorio Society of Virginia.

 

Julianna has been an active percussion instructor in Fairfax County Public Schools.  She worked with Doug Martin and served as the Percussion Caption Head at Langley High School for the 2018-2020 seasons.  She has also assisted in teaching the drumline, front ensemble, and percussion ensembles at John Lewis High School (2014-2019) and Centreville High School (2019).  Over the past few years, she has worked with 5th and 6th grade percussion students part-time at Churchill Elementary School and Great Falls Elementary School.  Julianna offers private lessons in percussion as well.
