How to join the Jammers
Find the program that fits your child’s grade, then follow the steps to sign up.
Which program fits your child’s grade?
Children in grades 1–5 this school year start with a Mini-Camp, then audition at Summer Experience Camp and join an ensemble in the fall, in their new grade: Red or Green for grades 2–4, Black or White for grades 5–6. Ensembles from 7th grade up are for students who were Jammers by 6th grade, so a student already in 6th grade or above who is new to the Jammers starts with Jammers Tech, open to grades 6–12.

How sign-up works
Mini-Camps
These camps are open to children new to the Jammers. They are fun, interactive sessions that happen a few times throughout the season, and sign-ups are first come, first served.
Grades 1–5 · Two-hour sessions, fall and winter
You sign up on Eventbrite, first come, first served. Join our newsletter to hear when registration opens.
Summer Experience Camp
These camps are open to children new to the Jammers and are the required audition for our performance groups. Campers experience the high-energy, hands-on teaching style of award-winning educator David Reynolds, Jr. and the Jammers camp staff, with daily sessions in drum set, hand drumming and mallet percussion ensemble.
Grades 2–6 · One week, half days
Current Jammers don’t need camp: once a child is a Jammer, they’re in. Each child may attend one week of camp.
Ensembles, after camp
After Summer Experience Camp, children join an ensemble for the fall, by grade and by how much time they can give. The programs table on this page lists each ensemble’s grades and schedule. Space is limited.
After camp, we let each family know whether there is a spot for their child and, if so, in which group. You accept or decline the invitation, then register through the link we send.
Jammers Gold
Jammers for grown-ups! Part fun, part social, part learning.
Grown-ups · Once a month · One Friday night a month · 7:30–9:00 pm

Questions families ask
Does my child need musical experience?
No. Mini-Camps and Summer Experience Camp are made for beginners, and so is Jammers Tech.
My child is in 7th grade. Can they join?
Yes, through Jammers Tech. Use “What grade is your child in?” on the home page to see everything open to them.
Can my child do more than one week of camp?
No. Each child may attend one week of Summer Experience Camp.
How often do the ensembles perform?
It depends on the ensemble: the twice-a-week groups perform in the community during the year, and every ensemble plays the Big Jam.
What is the Big Jam?
Our own concert, every spring, where all of our ensembles take the stage together.
Can grown-ups play?
Yes. Jammers Gold is our group for grown-ups.
